A Simple Ramadan Poem
The dunya has us by our teeth
We want to play games, eat and sleep
Our Imaan is weak
But Allah sends us hope
Every year the festive cheers
Brings into call the blessed month
When we sustain from games, food, and sleep
With our Qurans at hand we weep
As we fast we think
Of Allah's great favours
Like food and drink
He gave us provision and sustanance
For which Him we thank
With words of glory and praise
Our status ever multiplying in rank
For all this effort we will find
Our souls' peace of mind
As the sun will set
To bring the day to an end
The bad deeds that we dread
Our good deeds will apprehend
Maghrib comes into play
Break the fast and lets pray
Jamaah all the way
And that brings the end of a day
In comes the night
Imaan shining bright
Stand in line behind the Imam we can see
The light given to us by Allah for us to feel
Imaans excellent zeal
Then will come the festive day
On which we will celebrate
In an Islamic Way
